Materials Organization consists of a flexible and responsive team having the knowledge of experienced buyers and today's technologies to provide a very dynamic MRP environment for our customers. Our organization is grouped by customer to ensure that there is a comprehensive picture of each customer's entire pipeline of material. Our customers have direct access to their personal buyer. A collaborative approach in supply chain management yields the greatest rewards with the least amount of risk.

Universal Electronics, Inc buyers are responsible for purchasing more than 15,000 unique item numbers with a comprehensive supply base of more than 150 vendors. We have strategic relationships with many vendors ranging from the largest distributors in the electronics industry to small niche manufacturers of custom devices. Quarterly reviews with our vendors to discuss process efficiencies and market trends ensure operational objectives such as quality and on-time performance. With the large portfolio of item numbers, we are able to offer to our customers superior pricing on raw materials due to demand leveraging.

Universal Elecrtronics, Inc. has invested heavily in technology to provide the responsiveness needed in today's fast paced supply chain environment. We are fully EDI capable and have all of our top vendors performing transactions via this mechanism. We also have a proprietary web-based bidding process that instantly sends our MRP requirements to a very large supply base. This allows a rapid cycle time for finding the available components at the optimum cost in the market. At the touch of a button, we are able to provide customers with their entire supply chain status including shortages, excess material and expected deliveries. Our system allows aggregation of materials for pricing leverage but completely segregates customers inventory internally. Universal Electronics, Inc. systems are able to provide customers with a feasibility analysis before actions are taken to determine possible excesses on cancellations or shortages on increases.

The Materials Organization is an extension of our manufacturing floor which is an extension of our customers. The manufacturing team delivers products to our customers on a Just-in-Time basis, and our materials organization also receives materials on a Just-in-Time basis as well. Universal Electronics, Inc. has the technology to manage the supply chain, but the personal touch of an individual, experienced buyer is always at your disposal.
